Mentoring
We help teens to develop in 4 areas: Physical, Mental, Social, and Emotional. We use a medieval theme to make self-development fun. In order to advance within the ranks of knighthood the teens will read books, fulfill challenges from their mentor, and complete personal growth projects.
Teens have a call with their mentor once a week for an hour. They report on progress in their self-development homework, talk about their lives and goals, and then learn a principle of self-development.
Learn
-
The teens have a choice between reading a book or watching a movie and writing a paper about it.
-
These books and movies are chosen to help teens to learn skills, understand the world around them, and to analyze various ways of living.
-
They get to choose from a book list with titles like "How to Think Like a Monk", "Do Hard Things", and How to Talk to Anyone".
-
The Mentor will give the teen tasks for the week that will help them to apply what they have been learning.
-
They may be asked to track how many times they got into an argument that week, or to do something personally challenging like cooking a meal or shopping alone.
-
The assignments are there to help the teen to grow physically, mentally, socially, and emotionally.

Mentor Assigned Challenges
Personal Growth Projects
-
The teen chooses a project that will push them beyond their comfort zone and help them to develop a desired skill or character skill.
-
Some teens choose a fitness goal like a 6-pack or improving their diet. Others choose a skill goal like writing, recording, and publishing a music album, or learning how to do a backflip.
-
As teens progress through the ranks their mentor will expect more ambitious projects.
Ranks
As the teens advance in the program and complete individual Projects, Courage Challenges, and Education Requirements, they rank up within the guild. Each ranking is given special rewards.
